Description
  My name is Flash.  I am a 10-year-old domestic short hair orange tabby.  I am a boy, so, of course, I have been neutered.  I came to TAPS when my previous companion could no longer care for me.  When I first came to TAPS, I was not really very happy.  I was scared and confused as to why I was here.  As a result, I got sick.  I was not getting better, so I went to live as a foster kitty with our Director, her kitties, and another foster kitty (Calvin).  We all get along swell, and I am back to my old healthy self!  I am very tidy and always use my litter box.  I am front paw de-clawed.  While my personality is a little on the independent side, I get along with the other kitties and my human companions.  I am not thrilled with being picked up and held.  Okay, you can do it for a short time, but I will meow and ask to be put down.  Instead, I will sit by you, sleep at the end of your bed, and come to you when I am ready for petting.  If you bring out a brush, you will have my attention.  I love being brushed and will purr loudly!  I know my name and will come when called (well, if I feel like it).  I enjoy gathering for a morning treat of a spoonful of soft food.  YUM!  I may be 10, but I love to play with toys, especially if there is catnip inside.  See my photo with a fuzzy little squirrel!  I also love chirping toys and will bat them down the stairs.  Of course, I will wait for my people to retrieve them, so I can do it all again.  On occasion I will get them myself.  This is our little game!  I have my favorite rug to sleep on, especially in the sun.  Although I am past the kitten stage, I enjoy playing and would make a great companion for other kitties in a quiet household.  Please contact TAPS or my foster mom, Angela, at admin@tapsshelter.com for more information on adopting me.  I promise to return all the love you give me and will be a great companion to anyone who is willing to open up your home.  We older guys need love ,too, so please give me a chance.Click Here for a TAPS Adoption Application Flash is awaiting a sponsor.
