Description

Unlike most rats you may adopt or purchase, Social Rats are exactly what they sound like, social rats.

We work very hard to make sure all of our rats that we adopt out are social and tame. If we breed them, they are held from the day of birth unlike they are removed from the mother at 5 weeks of age. Only the males are removed from mom at 5 weeks old, due to sexual maturity of them, however the females stay with mom until 6-8 week old or adopted, whichever is sooner.

Our rescues that we take in are worked with from the day they get out of quarantine to make sure they are not shy, not skittish, not nippy in any way. We work to train the rats not to bite through the bars, though some grabbing and exploring of anything near the cage is normal.

We have blues, a few hairless, a few dumbos, and just a wide variety up for adoption. RIght now we have 1 female blue and 1 male blue, both hooded, up for adoption, and a litter of blues, both parents are blues, with 7 being solid and 3 being hooded that will be ready to go home on November 10th and a litter of tan solids, with some being dumbos available to go to their new home on November 11th. I will begin accepting reservation fees, via PayPal, on November 1st, at which time I will know gender and ear placement.

My adoption fee is $15 for a single rat and $25 for a same gender pair. all of our rats are very social, loving rats. We work very hard to make sure this is the case with them and have NEVER had anyone bit by any of our rats (other than us when working with them, if they are especially unsocialized or injured or sick, which can happen) I have never had a bad review or comment from an adopter. You can view my site at http://www.socialrats.com/ and read what ppl say at http://www.socialrats.com/testomonials.html

If you are interested in adopting a baby rat, or one of our older rescues, I am more than willing to help you out with this. When you get from another breeder (as I have heard some bad things about some breeders) or a pet store, it can be a flip of a coin with them, this is not the case with Social Rats. Not only do we work to make sure you get the perfect rat for your family, we will exchange rats if you take one home and find out that it is not the rat that you were looking for.
